Hope Barnes
LCSW

I’m Hope — a licensed clinical social worker, child and family therapist, and the founder of Beloved Joy Therapy. My journey into this work is deeply personal. After losing my mother, I stepped into the role of a house parent at Mooseheart Child City and School. In the midst of my own grief, I was surrounded by children navigating their own losses and life transitions. Their laughter, strength, and resilience helped reawaken a part of me I thought I had lost — and reminded me that healing is possible, even after deep sorrow.
Today, I bring that same sense of compassion and presence into every session. I specialize in play therapy, family dynamics, trauma-informed care, and clinical supervision. Whether I’m working with a child, a parent, or a fellow clinician, I strive to create a space where people feel seen, safe, and empowered to grow. Beloved Joy Therapy was created in memory of my mom — a woman whose quiet love shaped my life. Her joy lives on here.
